Exhibition Lobi statues and archeologic terracottas

For this back-to-school exhibition, we present a selection of statues from the Lobi culture of Burkina Faso. Anthropomorphic, elongated, particularly cubic sculptures, Lobi statues are illustrations of ancestor worship. They were placed in interior ritual altars or against grain stores outdoors. The patinas differ depending on their use. This exhibition reveals this diversity of material, style and representation. At the same time, come and discover our latest archaeological acquisitions: a character and an animal from the Djenné culture of Mali, terracotta statuary from Nigeria (Nok, Sokoto and Katsina) as well as other surprises.

Vernissage on September 25 from 6 p.m., in compliance with sanitary conditions (hydroalcoholic gel, compulsory wearing of a mask, premises cleaned regularly and permanently ventilated).

Exhibition from September 25 to October 10.

The gallery welcomes you from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. or by appointment.
