In 2009, I was commissioner of the exhibition ” Masks Gèlèdé, magic and power of the Great Mothers in Benin “. This exhibition gathered, for the first time in Europe, more than hundred art pieces of the rite Gèlèdé (civilization Yoruba) resulting in great majority of Mr Jean Yves Augel’s collection. A movie about a ceremony Gèlèdé is realized for the opportunity and broadcasted throughout the exhibition.
I also participated in a conference on the historic and artistic context of ceremonies Gèlèdé together with Hélène Joubert, curator of the African department to the Quai Branly Museum and Pierre Amrouche, the expert in African, trade art and writer.
